Trip hiatus

Just a heads up for those who are following my blog and who watch my Spot pretty closely, we've had a family illness so I'm on my way home and will alert everyone when I resume the trip. Have rented a car, "Traveler" and I are driving to Decatur, Illinois and expect to arrive sometime late tonight or in the morning...DO I STILL KNOW HOW TO DRIVE???

  2. Steve, we miss you already! I'm glad to hear that you are able to get home so quickly! We can't wait to meet your wife and poodle :-) I hope all gets better quickly!

P.S. Thank you for the note on the kitchen table. We will put it where all treasured notes go - on the refrigerator for all to see that we had the great honor of hosting you.

  4. Thank you Monte, i'll keep you in the loop with regards to the remainder of the trip as I do indeed plan to finish. I suspect and hope that you still plan to ride through at least part of Montana with me.

  5. Steve,
I am working feverishly to get my bike, supplies, and myself (Ha!) in good enough shape to cross the Rockies with you. From a scheduling standpoint I was planning to track your progress and find the best window of time to take the "Empire Builder" Amtrak to Montana and catch up to you somewhere there. This train has stops in Wolf Point, Glasgow, Malta, Havre, Shelby, Browning, and East Glacier Park. Thought you had indicated that your route was along the Adventure Cycling Northern Tier Route which works great for a train stop rendezvous. If you are planning to be on the Lewis and Clark Trail, I will need to get out in front of you and navigate south to a rendezvous point. My best window to meet up with you falls between June 25th and July 13th. I am committed to my Board process from July 14-26 and then open till the middle of August... You are making terrific progress and I truly hope everything works out for the best with the situation you are dealing with. I will keep watching your Blog... you have my best wishes .. Please pass those along to Andrea... If you wish to talk please do not hesitate to call... Take care new friend...

  10. Hi Steve,
Sorry to hear the news. Wish you and your family all the best. Hope you can finish your trip the way you want.
Since we met in Fargo we have had wind in our backs and are now in the south of Montana. We have been lucky with the weather. We have been to a fantastic National Parks in the west of ND.
All the best Eva and Gunnar
