Several folks have commented that they are having trouble with posting comments on the blog.  I definitely want to hear from you as your comments keep my spirits up on cold, windy, long bicycle rides.  The work around that we have devised (we think it is because some submitters don't have active Google accounts) is to send your comments to the email:  sspeer2@comcast.net  and Andrea will post them.

  1. Hello Steve, Hope you are enjoying your brief respite from biking across the country. Regarding the photo on your front porch, perhaps Maggie the Poodle is concerned that you are going to encourage her to join you for the remainder of the trip! ......"Say WHAT?" Vicki & Don

  2. Steve, Some places you might want to stop and see. One is the National Eagle Center in Wabasha MN. (Section 7 Map 85). They also put on a great show about eagles. It has a great city park with showers and the movie "Grumpy Old Men" was filmed there. Carpenter Nature Center not far from St Croix Bluffs Regional Park MN., near Prescott (Section 7 Map 84). On Fridays they net and band birds and finally Dyersville, Iowa (Section7 Map 92) and another movie set "Field of Dreams". I forgot that I did part of the Northern Tier on my way to the North Lakes.

    1. Greetings Jerry - Great suggestions! I have had a couple of days off and looking forward to hitting the road again. Had my bike serviced, ate some great food, got to see my sweet wife, and had plenty of rest. Very nice. Question...Will you have a blog of your Continental Divide Trip? I would like to follow your latest adventure. By the way, met another kindred spirit who you may wish to reach out to...Monte Cherry. He bikes, kayaks, dives, etc...so there are more "like souls" than first thought in Decatur. He heads up the waste treatment facility in Decatur.
